|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
A new series of 9 precision clamps for retaining gears on shafts, manufactured by Sterling Instrument, are made with reduced clearance radii that permit the clamps to retain small diameter gears in tight spaces. Designated as the Reduced Clearance Gear Clamps, series no. S3201Y-C, the clamps are used with clamp-type split hub gears. The clamps are designed to slide over the hub of the gear. They can grip the gear onto a shaft without marring the shaft and can be tightened by means of a supplied #2-56 socket head cap screw which has been recessed into the main clamp body. A gear may be easily repositioned by loosening the screw. Made of 416 hardened, stainless steel, the clamps have a .150" width and are designed for use on gear hubs with O.D. sizes ranging in diameter from .1250" to .2500". Clamp heights range from .290" to .414" and the clearance radius ranges from .26" to .35". Availability is from stock. Prices in single quantity start at $10.29. SI 14 |
